The Alberta Reporter

Hi there, thanks for stopping by. My name is Erin Collins and I work as a national reporter for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation based out of Calgary, Alberta. I created this site to give people the opportunity to check out some of the stories that I have had the opportunity to tell over the past months and years and to update people on the stories I am working on as I go. I guess my intent was to create a kind of audio/visual scrap book of my work life. Have fun poking around, EC.
Day two in Kenema and we decided to take a day trip out to an artisanal diamond mine about 60km (two hours drive) outside Kenema. It was a long and dusty drive but more than worth it as we got some really amazing access to the miners. Back to Freetown tomorrow but with a great feeling of accomplishment knowing the group has a half dozen great stories in the can. You can check out some truly amazing pics of the day above. They were taken by freelance journalist Damon van der Linde who has also been working here in Sierra Leone with Journalists for Human Rights. E
